     High in the mountains lived a small flock of sheep. It happened that a cute, beautiful lamb was born to

one little sheep. It had soft and silky skin. However, it was different from the others. It was black. Black as the

darkest night.

     The mother sheep was saddened by this event. She was distressed all day long.

     "Why did such a misfortune happen to me?" she asked reproachfully.

     On the other hand, she was glad that the lamb was healthy and lively.

     From birth, the lamb suffered neglect and humiliation. No one wanted to play with it. The other peers

turned away from it.

     The lamb eventually grew into an adult sheep. Life in the flock flowed monotonously and dull.

     The little sheep therefore decided to set out into the wide world. Early in the morning, when it was still

dark and everyone was asleep, it set off on its journey. It walked one, two, three days. On the fourth day, it

arrived at a small meadow. There it saw a white lamb crying bitterly. It approached.

     "What terrible thing happened to you that you are crying?"

     The lamb raised its head and said sadly:

     "Don't you see my coat?"

     "And what should I see on it? Is it dirty?" the little sheep asked confusedly.

     "That's exactly it. It is completely white! White as snow," the lamb said tearfully.

     "And does that bother you so much?" the sheep smiled.

     "In our flock, everyone has coats black as coal. Except mine. They drove me away so I wouldn't disgrace

them."

     "You, my dear little lamb," said the sheep, lovingly licking its cheek.

     It was glad it had met someone with the same fate. Then it told the lamb its own story. The lamb stopped

crying and listened attentively. Suddenly, it felt relief in its soul.

     They both decided to live together. They settled in the meadow where they met. They built a small and

cozy house. They lived together happily and contentedly. After some time, beautiful lambs were born to

them. Two were black and two were white. And no one minded the color of their coats.
