The Tiger and the Mosquito
In the jungle, all the animals once lived in peace and harmony. But one day, a terrible tiger appeared out
of nowhere—like lightning from a clear sky. He began to terrorize every living creature, tearing apart anyone
he met without mercy.
Panic and horror spread throughout the forest.
The animals decided to take one last desperate step. They called a war council, gathering in a clearing to
discuss the dire situation.
"What are we going to do?” asked the frightened fawn.
"We must stand up firmly against that dictator,” said the determined rat.
"Exactly!” cried the anteater.
"We should all attack him at once!” blurted the hare.
"You know well that none of us would dare such a thing,” said the wild boar calmly.
"True words,” agreed the frog.
"The wolf here could defeat him!” suggested the baboon.
"Me? Why me?” stammered the wolf, frightened. "I don't have that kind of strength! The tiger would tear
me to pieces instantly.”
"Then only the bear remains!” replied the marten.
The bear's eyes widened.
"Don't count on me! I have a family!”
Everyone fell silent, sad and hopeless.
Then, from somewhere in the back, a mosquito's voice piped up.
"I'll take care of it!”
"You? How could you face such an enemy? He'd swallow you whole,” said the badger in disbelief.
"How do you plan to do that?” squealed the partridge.
"You'll see soon enough! Now go home. We'll meet here exactly one month from today.”
The meeting ended, and everyone dispersed with uneasy feelings.
That evening, the mosquito flew toward a nearby cave where the tiger lay sleeping peacefully. The
mosquito landed carefully on his back and stung him. The despot felt nothing.
Exactly one month later, the tiger died of malaria.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. They gathered again in the clearing to praise the mosquito for his
extraordinary bravery. He even received a medal for courage—for he alone, though tiny in size, stood up to
great evil.
From that time on, all the creatures lived peaceful lives once more.
